My birthday: dinner & drinks for me on Saturday 5/6!!

This Saturday, May 6th, I would like to celebrate my birthday with everyone.

I'm thinking dinner at 7:30 or 8, drinks, and maybe more afterwards.

How would you feel about dinner at the Last Supper Club?
Or at Cha Cha Cha in the Mission?
Drinks, etc could happen in other places... hmmm.....

Dream come true; OMG!!!

I got a phone call;
I heard from the germans; I'm going to France in 2 weeks to dance at their performance during the Cannes Film Festival!! All expenses paid, and I'll be paid, 5 star hotel, 2 days of rehearsals (not whole days), 2 performances, and the rest of the 11 days is for me to enjoy myself with great people... in Cannes, FRANCE!!!! For my work as a DANCER!! my art... is getting me to Europe on someone else's tab... and I'm being PAID for it!!!

We're doing the show on the docs in Cannes, during the week of the film festival, at some fancy hotel space where the big stars stay... eep! We expect up to 500 attendees...

Here's the link for TRIP, although I don't see info about the show yet...:

Living Dead Girlz Show this Sunday!

SUNDAY, MAY 7TH

The Living Dead Girls have been asked to be the show closer (*faint*)
for this most amazing of productions, presented by the good ol' Dr.
Kingfish and many of the (no longer active) Spectacular-Spectacular
regulars.

It'll be an amazing, hilarious night.

Go here
for the full lineup.

Doors at 9, band at 10, first burlesque set at 10:45, second burlesque
set 11:40.

So that puts us on after midnight.

We have a fairly short act this time--about 6 minutes long, as opposed
to our regular 10-12--because of the number of performers that need to
get on stage that night, and to manage the drunk-attention-span
theater aspect of the night. So be sure to not miss it!

We're really excited about this show! Just wait till you see what we
have planned for you...

And don't forget! We and the other performers will be messy, messy, MESSY.
Part of our new standard show procedure involves the distribution of
prophylactic plastic.

Also, advance notice: our next shows will be 6/6/06 and 6/6/08. Stay
tuned for details.

Bloody gory love to you all!

argh. blog envy, blog ethics.

I was just re-reading my fabulous friend, Curly Girl's blog. She's fabulous. And I felt a little envious about how I haven't been writing about my crapstick in my blog and my livejournal.
Here is a posting of hers, and our comments, which go to show the brilliant mind of Curly Girl (who is actually the person who inspired me to write a blog in the first place; hence the "curly" in my blog title,) although this post happens to be a deep one, as opposed to a hilarious one:
http://curl.shenuts.com/index.php/2005/09/12/the-eraser-man/#more-317

Perhaps I will create another blog, so that I can bitch? Or I could post to the girls only on lj...
Might be really enjoyable to have some online rooting for me as I proceed upon my path of ultimate coolness.
But; shit. Part of the ultimate coolness is that I get to have private conversations with my dear friends in which I get to be uncool.
And I really need to be uncool.
A lot. Especially right now. In fact, right now sucks. Right now fucking blows.

But... I think it's better to share the details and get support about this privately than online... which kinda sucks, because I see how much others get out of it. Honestly, though; I don't want someone to read an angry/hurt posting of mine months later when they get curious and then feel all hurt. Because I don't want to make a whole shitload of fucking messes that need to be cleaned up later.

Where did I get this strange new sense of privacy? I certainly didn't have it when I was younger. I used to be all about telling everyone all of my business; not just friends, but strangers, too. It was sort of my way to get feedback, validation, and to decide whether or not I liked the choices I was making.

And now I know myself better, and now I feel as though it's my responsibility to regulate myself according to what I think is right, and to keep my crap within the confines of friendships where I know I can return the favor of listening, rather than sharing too much.

Mmmmm... but you can see my temptation, I'm sure. It's probably worse right now than normal because I'm at work as a TA in a Database administration course lab, and I'm stuck here on 3.5 hours of sleep. Nothing to do but spill my secrets online... sigh...
so I'm relegated to posting on other people's blogs... heh heh...

tickled.

Man; I totally just realized that my 3rd audiopost isn't up.
Damnit.
It was the one I left at 2am in LA that explained that the three posts went together in opposite order.
it had a nostalgic ending.
oh; well.

Nostalgia... useful; but... mostly on a personal level.

Anyhow: the photoshoot I did a couple of months ago for the Scream Queen calendar has been posted here:

www.Cafepress.com/OHPSQ

I'm in the Slumber Party (May) and also I'm Ms. Sloth/July.
You can friggin' buy me in a bikini on a coffee mug. Dude. It's totally awesome.
HAH HAH! yay!

Other than that, we did an amazing photoshoot for Living Dead Girlz on Saturday; there is nothing like the glory of zombie girlz in white lingerie, covered in blood... yay!

Me and cute aminals!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
too cute, that's what these kids are. Tiffany Diamond, the Devon Rex kitten, was a holy terror, unless you were holding him, in which case he'd purrr and purrrrrrr; even if you put clothing on him.

But I love Spike (last picture) and Sebastian (fluffy boy); they're my boys.. love love love...

and now, I present, my lovely trip to Artana's House of Animal Dress-Up:

www.artana.net/silly/tiffanydiamond

the quirks of work

two things:

My boss, a female MD, just told me, "I have to say, you look sort of like a punk Stepford Wives with those glasses..."

Lots of the people I work with; the conservative-looking ones who are all over 40, all broke out with a herpes sore on their mouths last week. EEEW. Carmex, people.

triumphant! whoot!

I'm sure proud of the moving! Yay! Other than that, I getting lots of support from my friends around me, and feeling very very lucky to have so many girliees around who will stop what they're doing to give me hugs and make me laugh when I freak out in the middle of a social situation, watch movies with me, and spend the night and snuggle me; I'm totally greatful. Especially considering that I just watched my good friend deal with a breakup, and he got none of this lovin'... it's fucked up to be a guy. Guys get shafted when it comes to support from friends.
No spooning, no hugs; fuck; they don't even get to cry comfortably. I'm glad I'm a girl; yay.

I've decided that if I were a cartoon right now, I'd have explosive, acidic, projectile vomit. But I would still be a girl cartoon.

Braggidy brag brag

I would like to take a moment here;

Some of you may have heard about the blood wrestling I did last weekend; how it was unpadded, I got a goosegg on my noggin, my knees are totally purple (and this is way worse than taking Martha Graham dance classes), and I put a girl's shoulder back into the socket after she dislocated it in the fight before me. So here's a message that the lovely girl in question sent me, that makes me proud:

"...and thanks again - i think you put me back together really well the doctor at the ER was impressed that we did it ourselves!"

Sah-weet. My talents abound.

Love Urn from Costco.

Seriously.

Absolutely seriously.

Another loverly performance last night at Bondage a Go-Go; we had technical difficulties earlier in the day with Shannon's chainsaw blood bag; the kind of technical difficulties that entail a pressurized latex bag full of fake blood exploding in her face. This resulted in the Living Dead Girlz ending up rigging the chainsaw with surgical tubing directly to the fire extinguisher filled with blood.

This resulted in some very happy and very blood-soaked folks in the front row, who basically were hosed down with blood blasted right into their chests and faces... heh heh heh... Ah; Shannon and her eternal quest to cover the world in blood.

We received some very nice complements after the show; our favorite of which was from a hot latex-sheathed lady (who did not explode in Shannon's face). The lady in question works somewhere that many burlesque troupes perform and she said that she was impressed by our being what she called "on point," by which she meant that we managed to stay in unison and with the music. YAY! Sounds easy; is actually quite an accomplishment, and it was so lovely to have someone approach us and deliver such pleasing words; HURRAH!

By the way; have I mentioned yet how much I love love love love my Living Dead Girlz? How friggin' hard they work? How incredibly hot they are? How much fun they are to work with?
LOVE THEM!!!

Well; Kiddies;
the last show for a while is on Monday, Halloween itself;
I hope the rest of you can make it!!
It's at the Glass Kat on 4th and Bryant, and we'll go on a bit after midnight; more details on our website!!

Being a director is the stressfol.

Details are quite a pain in the hiney.

Well; today I heard that our old stickers might have the wrong web address on them... had to fix the shortie design, find a replacement button company since the other one completely flaked, heard in the last 24 hours that two of my dancers have to miss hours out of our workshop day tomorrow, and figure out how to approach the people who miss-represented us on the flier for a show we're doing by saying "zombie go-gos will entertain"... which really gets me... zombie go-going is quite different than having a choreographed, costumed, set, multi-part, prop-inclusive, special effects having dance troupe that's been rehearsing for months. No reference to our name, no mention of our website...
~sigh~
now I can't get into paypal to pay the button folks... ARAGH
On a brighter note; it was my second year in a row getting chosen by Gen .... yay!
Genitorturers make my year!! Whoot! almost 5; I'm outta here!

Blowflies are attracted to wet orifices. This means that --if the temperature is over 50 degrees Farenheit-- the blowflies will come and eat your wet bits first. When you see a body with uneven decomposition; as one can observe on my cheeks, that implies the presence of blood which attracted blowflies. This is one of the ways that forensic scientists can tell where wounds are after the wounds are no longer visible in rotten flesh. Posted by Picasa

Amalia makes decomp dreamy.... Posted by Picasa

I may be rotten, but you'd better believe that those blowflies lay eggs filled with diamonds. Posted by Picasa

I hate it when my bling gets caught in my flesh. Posted by Picasa

See that big, luscious lip of flesh hanging from my chest? Definately a knife wound.. or a glass necklace from a crash in a vintage Rolls Royce. Posted by Picasa

Just because you're face is full of flies doesn't mean you can't be fly. Posted by Picasa

Yes; defiately either a crash in a fancy old car, or a deadly catfight.... Posted by Picasa

Living Dead Girlz Open Photoshoot this Sunday, September 18th!

Photographers and Friends of the Living Dead Girlz and Chainsaw Mafia:

The Living Dead Girlz are in desperate need of photos for our website!!

www.livingdeadgirlz.com

and so we're going to get our hot, undead bodies all made up and scantily clad in the hopes that you folks might be enticed to come and take advantage of 7 hot zombies posing for you!! We'll have some lighting (provided by The Chainsaw Mafia), and a wherehouse to utilize.

If you'd like to help with makeup or can help take digital pictures that we can use on our website, we'll be eternally grateful (and that's a long time when you're undead!)

Please RSVP by emailing me at icedaemoness@yahoo.com

Sunday evening, September 18th:

Photoshoot at the Cracktory in SF.

Photographers can arrive and begin shooting at 6:30

Living Dead Girlz will arrive as close to 5 as possible for makeup. (Some earlier arrivals are also welcome, as early as 2pm, but the full flock of us won't be there until later.)

We'll try to have everyone in makeup by 7:30, but photographers can arrive at 6:30 and start taking individual shots/small group shots as people become ready. When everyone is done, we'll work on large group shots. I imagine we'll probably not be done until 10 at the earliest.

We don't have to dance, though, so we might want to consider beer; the Cracktory has encouraged us to bring any snacks, drinks, etc. that we would like to consume.

If you know of people who would be interested in helping with makeup or taking pics, by all means, please put me in touch with them and invite them!!

me: got the music figured out almost entirely;
me: had a blast hanging out with my dj friend

Danielle: Zombies, hot sex, and productivity...it is my new goal in life to be able to use that phrase to describe a weekend of my own...
